Brownies
Brownies are delicious tasting sweets with the main
ingredient being chocolate. They are baked in a fashion very
similar to a cake. There are many variations of brownies to
choose from too. Some people like them just plain while others
want them frosted or with nuts added. You can also make
brownies from white chocolate, add caramel, and put in fresh
chocolate chunks.
It can be fun to bake different types of brownies for home
or for a fundraiser. There are tons of recipes in books and
online. Some groups of people choose to have a brownie exchange
instead of a cookie exchange for the holidays as well. With so
many varieties to choose from this is a great way to expose
yourself to some new ones.
The texture for brownies can determine the overall taste as
well. Some people like to make them chewy. Others want them to
be more of a cake like taste. You can find recipes for both of
them. If you are using a box mix to make your brownies, you
will generally just have to change the amount of certain
ingredients to get the texture you want.
Many restaurants offer delicious tasting brownies if you
don’t want to take the time to bake your own. This can also
help to keep you to consuming only one of them instead of an
entire pan full. I know if there are brownies sitting on my
counter I tend to want to eat them right away and there aren’t
any left for the rest of the household to enjoy. A common
dessert item at many restaurants is the brownie sundae. This is
a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it and then hot
fudge sauce. It is really delicious and if you haven’t tried
one you should see what it is all about.
One thing that many people worry about with brownies though
is the calories. They love the taste but not all of the
additives that come with it. There are some really good low fat
brownie recipes out there too though. This is a way to still
get to indulge in them but to reduce the negative effects on
yourself. You can also add an extra 15 minutes to your exercise
routine in order to have a regular brownie guilt free.
