Many of us were uncomfortable when movies on VHS began being
phased out by the DVD. Yet we adjusted to this new technology
without any problems. In fact, we came to really enjoy all of
the features that DVD’s offered over VHS. We didn’t have to
guess where to rewind or fast forward the materials to. We also
can watch the many bonus features in addition to the main
movie. Well, DVD’s now have some competition in the form of the

Many people are quite impressed with the quality of the
Blu-Ray movies out there. The newer releases are coming out in
this format. You can buy them or even rent them at your local
movie store. Blu-Ray movies are going to be the way of the
future so many people figure they should just start buying them
in this format now. That way they will have fewer to release

If you are going to upgrade from DVD’s to Blu-Ray you are
going to need to invest in a Blu-Ray recorder. If you have the
new Sony Playstation 3 then you already have the capabilities
to play such materials. Otherwise you will need to look around
at the various models on the market. Many of them are from the
names you already trust for your electronic devices. Some
people are going with a combo recorder that has the ability to
play both Blu-Ray materials and DVD’s. You can be sure the days
of the VHS are truly gone though with this technology
emerging.

offered can encourage people to watch them or to steer clear of
them. Since the Blu-Ray community isn’t a large one yet people
often turn to the internet in order to do so. They can get
information about movies out on Blu-Ray and they can even write
their own reviews to share with other people. This is an
exciting way for this new technology to continue taking on a
life of its own.

Blu-ray versus
HD
It can be confusing for consumers to understand the
differences between Blu-Ray and HD. In many ways they are very
similar and they both offer amazing picture quality. Many
people don’t realize that the formatting for both of them was
the same until early in 2008. Due to the manufacturer known as
Toshiba backing out of the deals to make HD players, the door
has been left wide open for people to use Blu-Ray
technology.
